We report a de novo draft genome assembly of an Indian Staphylococcus aureus strain LVP-7 (ST88) isolated from an eye infection that carries a staphylococcal cassette chromosome mec (SCCmec) type V. The genome also encodes Panton-Valentine leukocidin (PVL) phages, a delta-haemolysin (hld) converting phage phiNM3 and a pathogenicity island SaPI3 that harbours the potent super antigen, enterotoxin B.
