Gut microbiome of IMM patients. Gut microbiome dataset for patients with idiopathic inflammatory myopathies

The gut microbiota plays a crucial role in regulating the immune system and the etiology of human autoimmune diseases. However, the overall understanding of the gut bacterial, fungal, and viral communities in patients with idiopathic inflammatory myopathy (IIM) remains insufficient. Fecal samples were collected from 34 IIM patients and 37 healthy controls for whole-metagenome shotgun sequencing, enabling a comprehensive analysis of the multi-kingdom gut microbiota. This study provides comprehensive insights into the landscape of the fecal virome, bacterial community, and fungal community in patients with idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (IIM). Furthermore, it establishes a foundation for the development of diagnostic and therapeutic methods based on gut microbiota.
