we selected 8 species covering 5 genera of the Scombridae and amplified the cytochrome oxidase I (COI) gene and the mitochondrial cytochrome b (Cyt b) gene. Additional homologous sequences of other Scombridae fishes from GenBank were also included. Our analysis constructed phylogenetic relationships of 48 Scombridae species in 16 genera.
