Production value of the Spanish biotech sector in relation to GDP 2010-2020

In 2020, the production value of the biotechnology industry accounted for around 1.1 percent of the gross domestic product (GDP) in Spain, up from about one percent recorded in the previous year. The biotech sector has been increasing its share of the Spanish GDP since 2010, when it accounted for about 0.6 percent. Moreover, the production value of the biotech industry was estimated at approximately 12 billion euros in the European country as of 2020.
