Silhouettes (CalTech 101 Silhouettes)

This is a novel dataset based on the image annotations of CalTech 101. Every image in the CalTech 101 dataset contains high-quality polygonal contours of the primary objects in the scene. To create the CalTech 101 Silhouettes dataset, we centered and scaled each contour, then rendered it onto a D×D pixel image plane. The contours are rendered as filled black polygons on a white background. Many object categories have contours with unique category-specific features. A relatively small number of classes, such as soccer balls, pizzas, stop signs, and the yin-yang symbol, are indistinguishable in terms of shape, yet they are retained in this version of the dataset.
