this is the first report of E. coli strains carrying blaKPC-2 gene on IncU plasmids. Emergence of IncU type blaKPC-2-positve plasmid highlights further dissemination of blaKPC-2 in Enterobacteriaceae. Therefore, it is imperative that effective measures are taken immediately to control the spread of these blaKPC-2-positive plasmids.
