VPRS 12573 Minutes, Corporate Group

This series consists of the minutes of the Corporate Group of the State Transport Authority's (STA) meetings. Minutes were created to record the general administrative activities of the Corporate Group discussed at meetings, any decisions on general matters, correspondence received, tenders authorised, appointments, summaries of reports, and budget and expenditure information. In some instances, discussion papers and business reports were attached to minutes.The Corporate Group comprised a Secretary, the Managing Director as Chairman, plus the General Managers of all divisions within the STA. These divisions were, Finance and Accounting, Transport Operations, Workshops, Freight Services, Corporate Planning & Development, Passenger Services, Corporate Services, Personal & Employee Services, Operations Co-ordination, Engineering & Development and Corporate Communications.This series ended when the Public Transport Corporation Corporate Group, which held its inaugural meeting 19 December 1989, succeeded the STA. Although the Public Transport Corporation came into operation on 1 July 1989 via the Transport (Amendment Act) 1989 (no.9921), this Corporate Group still convened meetings until 15 November 1989.
