Reconsidering the importance of Metopolophium dirhodum as a crop pest

An assessment of life-history traits linked to Metopolophium dirhodum grown on winter barley plants. The objectives of this study were to utilize age-stage, two-sex life table theory to examine the life-history traits of three clonal lineages (MD-IRE-01; MD-02 and MD-34) of M. dirhodum when grown on winter barley. The experiment involved placing a first-instar nymph into an aerated clip cage on an individual barley plant for each replicate, with daily monitoring from birth to death to record development time, survival, and reproductive output.
