A synthetic map of the northwest European Shelf sedimentary environment for applications in marine science

This dataset shows maps of the sediment properties and physical environment of the seabed on the northwest European Continental Shelf. Mapped products are: mud, sand and gravel percentages; rock cover; whole-sediment, sand- and gravel-fraction median grain sizes; porosity and permeability; carbon and nitrogen content of sediments; mean and maximum depth-averaged tidal velocity and wave orbital-velocity; monthly natural disturbance rates. Data products are produced at a spatial resolution of 0.125 by 0.125 degrees. Data sets are provided in csv, netcdf, and Esri grid format.
