Training on board TS California State, California, 1930s

Training in the 1930s on board the TS California State, the training vessel of the California Nautical School (established 1929). San Francisco harbor is one of the locations. Training taking place is: azimuth compass use, long boat launching, maneuvering, and rowing, guard duty, manual of arms drill, mustering, boarding and disembarking from ship, and docking. People present: Captain Emile Topp, executive officer M.E. Crossman, and chief engineer R.C. Dwyer.
