"This database hosts simulation data for a prospective 2030 Latin American interconnected power system, as detailed in the study \"Breaking New Ground: Comprehensive Stability Assessment of Latin America's Interconnected Network.\" The data are provided in three DIgSILENT PowerFactory project files, compressed within a single archive named LA2030 Models.zip. Each file corresponds to a specific short-circuit scenario (Panama-Colombia HVDC, Bolivia-Brazil HVAC, Argentina-Brazil HVDC), with each simulating three critical operating scenarios: Maximum Demand (330.9 GW, 76% renewable, 39% NCRE), Minimum Demand (266.6 GW, 78% renewable, 24% NCRE), and Minimum Inertia (321.0 GW, 79% renewable, 49% NCRE). The Bolivia-Brazil HVAC file additionally includes simulations of three sudden disconnection contingencies (Petacalco, Itaipu, Atucha II). The simulations were conducted using DIgSILENT PowerFactory, based on a large-scale dynamic model with 1,146 busbars, 619 conventional power plants, 38 photovoltaic plants, 39 wind farms, 17 storage systems, and 161 transmission lines (143 HVAC, 18 HVDC). The data provide detailed insights into the stability of the interconnected system under critical conditions, including steady-state power flow, small-signal stability, and time-domain responses to faults and disconnections. This publicly available dataset is intended for researchers, system operators, and energy regulators to conduct further stability analyses, validate models, and support the development of a robust, sustainable regional power system in Latin America."
