Pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) is a vegetable crop of great economic value, and its yield and quality have been severely affected by low temperature combined with low light (LL) stress, especially in greenhouse. However, the physiological and molecular mechanisms of pepper response to LL stress have not been studied in detail. Here, we carried out physiological and transcriptomic studies on two pepper genotypes (Y2, a LL-sensitive genotype; Y425, a LL-tolerant genotype) under LL stress and CK conditions.
