资源简介:
Mycobacterium marinum is a free-living bacterium, which causes opportunistic infections in humans. This strain 927 was firstly isolated from soft water fish in 1926 by Aronson (Aronson JD. Spontaneous tuberculosis in soft water fish. J. Infect. Dis. 39: 315-320, 1926), and listed as a type strain of M. marinum. The first case of M. marinum infection associated with a fish-tank ('fish-tank granuloma') was reported in 1962. M. marinum infection may be an occupational hazard for certain professions such as pet shop workers, but most infections occur in fish fanciers who keep an aquarium at home (' aquarium granuloma'). Due to an increased awareness of the disease and improved isolation methods, more and more cases are being recognized and reported worldwide. We thus provide complete genome sequence of this type strain for future investigations.
