It integrates surface temperature data, risk indicators, and critical community assets to support preparedness, response, and equitable planning during heat events. Included Layers • Surface Temperature – Continuous raster or vector surface showing warmer to cooler areas. • Critical Assets categorized by: – Community Centers – Health Care Facilities – Hospitals – Schools – Libraries Intended Use • Supports experience builder apps, dashboards, and maps focused on heat risk. • Helps planners assess areas with higher surface temperatures and limited cooling access. • Assists emergency management in heat‑response planning and resource allocation. • Allows the public or staff to identify nearby community cooling resources. • Can be used across multiple tools (web maps, dashboards, story maps). Data Sources & Maintenance • Surface temperature and heat‑related datasets sourced or processed by Broward County Environmental Planning & Community Resilience Division. • Community asset datasets obtained from Broward County GIS and partner agencies. • Layers are updated as new temperature data, asset locations, or risk indicators become available.
