资源简介:
The marine area is important to Ireland and its citizens as it supports aquaculture, fisheries, shipping, tourism, recreation, and energy enterprises. Ireland's territorial seabed reaches more than 600 miles out into the Atlantic Ocean to waters of more than 4,500 metres in depth. The territorial seabed has been split into three zones for seabed surveying purposes: 0-50m depth contour (Zone 1) 50-200m depth contour (Zone 2) 200-4,500m depth contour (Zone 3) The Zone 3 area of the Irish National Seabed Survey is approximately 430,000 square km in size. Due to the size of the Zone 3 area the survey was split into eight areas named 3A to 3H. These areas were loosely based on the general seabed topography. Each area was treated as a separate survey.
