资源简介:
Two fill samples from a hearth feature at site LA 174561 in Eddy County, southeast New Mexico, were analyzed for pollen, phytoliths, starches, and macrofloral remains. Charcoal fragments recovered from the macrofloral samples were submitted for AMS radiocarbon dating. In addition to the hearth, this site contains three surface scatters of thermally-altered caliche and is believed to represent a multi-use, short-term, temporary prehistoric camp used for seasonal exploitation of plant and animal resources. Pollen, phytolith, starch, and macrofloral analyses provide information concerning plant resources processed in the hearth, as well as environmental information about plants growing in the area, while AMS radiocarbon dates provide temporal information.
