The aim of this study was to explore the composition of the bacterial community of Arapaima gigas reared in of Ecuador using 16S rRNA gene high-throughput sequencing. The analysis revealed significant differences in minor components of the intestinal microbiota of small and large fish of A. gigas, although components with greater relative abundance such as Cetobacterium, remain in similar proportions.
