Supporting data for "Ending an Empire: Ethnoracial Violence, Nationalism, and Otherization in the 1911 Revolution"

This dataset is the supporting data for my PhD dissertation titled "Ending an Empire: Ethnoracial Violence, Nationalism, and Otherization in the 1911 Revolution." In this study, I examine the anti-Manchu propaganda, and how it encouraged anti-Manchu sentiments and finally led to massacres of Manchus during the 1911 Revolution. Dataset A provides the number of deaths by province, and I created a colored map showing the death tolls by province based on the numbers in this dataset. Dataset B is the timeline on which I based to present the locales in each category chronologically in chapter three. I also created a timeline of large-scale massacres of Manchus in 1911 based on this dataset.
