FY Satellite MWRI&Windrad Sea ice Type dataset

This dataset provides multi-source microwave remote sensing data for Arctic sea ice classification. It integrates passive microwave observations acquired by the FY-3D Microwave Radiation Imager (MWRI) and active microwave observations collected by the FY-3E Wind Radar (WindRAD). The dataset contains brightness temperature measurements, radar backscatter coefficients, derived active–passive microwave classification indices, and corresponding sea ice type labels. The labels were generated using the OSI SAF sea ice type product and further refined through quality control procedures. The dataset was developed to support research on the classification of first-year ice (FYI) and multi-year ice (MYI) and to facilitate the development and evaluation of machine learning and deep learning models for sea ice monitoring. It can be used for studies involving microwave remote sensing, multi-source data fusion, feature extraction, semantic segmentation, and Arctic environmental monitoring. The dataset also provides valuable resources for investigating sea ice variability and its relationship with climate change in the Arctic region.
