The raw data of this dataset is sourced from CTD (Conductivity-Temperature-Depth) and Bottle instruments within the World Ocean Database (WOD), as well as Argo data collected by the Global Data Assembly Centre (GDAC). For the IAP dissolved oxygen gridded data, the dissolved oxygen bias quality control and bias correction scheme proposed by the Institute of Atmospheric Physics (IAP) (Gouretski et al., 2023, under review) was applied. Meanwhile, spatial interpolation was conducted using the interpolation method (Mapping: Improved Ensemble Optimal Interpolation) developed by the Institute of Atmospheric Physics. This method leverages historical simulation outputs from multiple CMIP6 (Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6) models to generate dynamic ensemble samples, thereby yielding more accurate background error covariance estimates (Cheng & Zhu 2016). This dataset has a horizontal resolution of 1°×1°, covers the water column from the surface down to 6000 meters with 119 vertical layers, and spans the period from 1958 to the present with monthly averaged data.
