Dataset of the accuracy of barotropic and baroclinic tides in global non-assimilative ocean general circulation models

This repository contains the 1/12° simulation outputs from the NEMO ocean model (ORCA12/eORCA_R12) and the 1/12° simulation outputs from the MOM6 ocean model used in the study, "The Accuracy of Barotropic and Baroclinic Tides in Global Non-Assimilative Ocean General Circulation Models." These datasets form a subset of the complete collection of model outputs analysed in the manuscript. Owing to their size and differing sources, the remaining datasets are hosted by their respective institutions or repositories. Links, access information, and contact details for all datasets used in the study are provided in the Data Availability section of the associated manuscript. This repository is intended to support the reproducibility of the analyses presented in the manuscript by providing the NEMO and MOM6 model outputs used in the study. Here are additional details of the datasets: 1. The 1/12 degree NEMO simulations which were harmonically analyzed for the M2 tidescontain the following files: a) The model bathymetry: eORCA_R12_bathymetry_v3.3.nc b) The model Coordinates: eORCA_R12_coordinates_v3.3.nc c) Two-year analysis data:ORCA12-T426a_20160101-20181231_res_harm.nc d) Three-month analysis data:ORCA12-T426a_20180101-20180331_res_harm.nc e) One-year analysis dataORCA12-T426a_20180101-20181231_res_harm.nc 2. The 1/12 degree MOM6 simulations of the M2 tidescontain the following files files: a) The model bathymetry: MOM6_bathymetry_topog_GLBb_tpxo.nc b) The simulations without a wave drag, containing twelve files for analysis for various durations (1-month, 2-months,...1-year) can be found in: MOM6_noWaveDrag_NetCDF.zip c) The simulations with a wave drag (scale factor =0.7), containing twelve files for the analysis of various durations (1-month, 2-months,...1-year) can be found in: MOM6_WaveDrag_NetCDF.zip
