This dataset contains metagenomic sequencing data of gut microbiota collected from Jiaji ducks (Anas platyrhynchos domesticus), a traditional duck breed native to Hainan Province, China. Jiaji ducks are known for their unique dietary habits and high adaptability to tropical environments, which contribute to their distinct gut microbial community. Samples were taken from the intestinal contents of healthy Jiaji ducks under natural farming conditions to explore the diversity, functional potential, and ecological roles of their gut microbiota.High-throughput sequencing was performed using the Illumina platform to generate high-quality paired-end reads for downstream metagenomic analysis. The data can be used to investigate microbial community composition, metabolic pathways, and potential interactions between gut microbes and the host. This study provides valuable insights into the gut microbiota of Jiaji ducks and their potential applications in poultry health and sustainable farming.
