All files except for the ReadMe-file are Stata files and programs that allow for the replication of all empirical results of the main paper and online appendix. Our main data set is provided by the Research Data Centre (FDZ) of the German Federal Employment Agency (BA) at the Institute for Employment Research (IAB). The data is confidential, but not exclusive. It is available for non-commercial research by visiting the Research Data Centre at the IAB in Nuremberg (Germany) and subsequently via remote data access (for further details see ReadMe-file).
