The invention relates to a process for the continuous mixing of fibers or chips with a binder for the production of fiber or chipboard， wherein a particle stream of fibers or chips is fed to a mixing chamber (1) of a mixer (101)， the particle stream is sprayed with binder before or in the mixing chamber， uniform mixing in the mixing chamber with rotating tools (3) and the mixed product of particles and binder is fed from a discharge opening (7) provided with a closable outlet flap (10) for further processing. In order to counter the uncontrolled leakage of material， the invention proposes that the quantity of particles supplied is determined in the aforementioned method and the opening cross section of the outlet flap (10) is set on the basis of the determined value.
