Bulk sedimentary organic carbon isotope chemostratigraphy of the Escucha Formation, Santa Maria Mine, Spain

Carbon isotope chemostratigraphy may be useful in making correlations of continental strata to marine strata, especially as a result of carbon cycle perturbations. This study provides carbon isotope data from an important vertebrate fossil site at the Santa Maria Mine Arino, Spain. The deposit is an important coal mine that includes a range of lithologies interpreted to be deposited in a coastal environment.
