Biomarkers blood and peritoneal fluid of bovines with intestinal diseases and traumatic reticulitis

Abstract The objective of this study was to simultaneously evaluate biomarkers in the blood and peritoneal fluid (PF) of cattle with intestinal diseases (GI n=14) and traumatic reticulitis (GII n=13). A clinical examination and blood collection and PF were performed and subsequently, physical and cytological analysis of PF, as well as biochemical determinations in blood and PF. The analysis of variance was used at a 5% probability level comparing the groups and comparing blood and PF. In both groups, signs of apathy, dehydration and reticuloruminal hypomotility were evidenced, but the GI animals presented more expressive clinical alterations.
