Small RNA sequencing of 6 entognathous Hexapoda (Protura, Collembola and Diplura) species

Small RNAs (sRNA) from a proturan samples (Sinentomon erythranum), two collembolan species (Folsomia candida, Orthonychiurus cf. himalayensis) and three dipluran species (Occasjapyx japonicus, Lepidocampa weberi, Octostigma sinensis) were sequenced using the Illumina sequencing system. The proturan samples are mainly adults, Folsomia candida is a European strain similar to VU strain, embryos, larvae and adults were mixed for each sample of both collembolan species. The sample of Occasjapyx japonicus and Lepidocampa weberi is adult, Octostigma sinensis including juveniles and adults.The small RNAs were sequenced for miRNA discovery in basal Hexapoda groups which aims to reveal the miRNA origination and evolution in Hexapoda.
