Dataset: Rapid Early Inactivation and Ventilation-Driven Removal of Cough-Generated E. coli Aerosols in a Room-Scale Chamber — Particle and Bioaerosol Data Description This repository contains all data associated with the figures in the main manuscript and the Supporting Information. The dataset includes experimental particle concentration measurements and culturable bioaerosol (Escherichia coli) data collected under controlled indoor conditions across a range of relative humidity levels and source-to-receptor distances. Files Particle Data Particle concentrations were measured at fixed sampling intervals with 31 size bins. Unless otherwise noted, measurements were taken at 1.2 m height (same height as the source). REPLICATE Replicate number for the experimental run. petridishmachine.csv Used in: Figure 5A Passive bioaerosol deposition data collected by exposing open petri dishes at defined distances from the aerosol source. Column Description PETRI DISH Petri dish identifier number. COUNT Number of colony-forming units (CFU) counted on the petri dish. NORMALIZED CFU count normalized to surface area (CFU m⁻²). SAMPLE TIME Start time of the petri dish exposure period (hours) TIME Duration of exposure (hours). REPLICATE Replicate number for the experimental run. DISTANCE Distance of the petri dish from the coughing machine (meters) Notes Particle data files contain 31 size bins measured at fixed time intervals; bin size ranges and units are defined in the instrument manufacturer's documentation. Colony counts represent culturable E. coli only; viable-but-non-culturable fractions are not captured. Raw colony counts (COUNT) in andersendata.csv should be corrected for the DILUTION factor before calculating absolute concentrations. NORMALIZED values in petridishmachine.csv have already been adjusted for petri dish surface area.
