To identify differentially expressed genes by specific gene silencing (via siRNAs or knockout) in human cancer, several cell lines (esophageal cancer and gastric cancer) were subjected to Agilent whole genome microarrays. Human cell lines (TE-8 and MKN45) were treated with siRNAs (si-HMGA2 and si-SERPINH1, respectively). TE-8 was also subjected to HMGA2 knockdown by CRISPR-Cas9 system.
