The diary is a handwritten volume containing miscellaneous information. For example, timetable of attendance, pay-sheets, lists of tools, records of instructions to workmen, planting, mowing and fencing procedures, and notes on all aspects relating to the upkeep of the gardens, lawn tennis and bowling greens of the Botanic Gardens, Centennial Park, Government Domains and various railway stations.
