This prospective study involved 11 esophageal squamous cell carcinoma patients receiving surgery treatment. Whole-exome or target sequencing of tumor, adjacent tumor, normal tissue, pre-surgery (shuqian) plasma and post-surgery (shuhou) plasma were performed to investigate tumor mutations and track the change of mutation frequency after surgery.
