Continuous cropping alters microbial community of rhizospheric soil and extremely jeopardizes the growth and development of plants. However, there are few studies on the effects of continuous cropping of melon on the the rhizospheric soil microbial community and functional pathways. In order to characterize the response mechanism to continues cropping pattern of melon, we investigated the structural and functional variations of microbial community in the rhizospheric soil in different continuous cropping densities using metagenomic sequencing.
