gRNA sequencing of mitochondrial RNA binding 'MRB' complexes in Trypanosoma brucei RNA editing. Trypanosoma brucei brucei strain:Lister strain 427 29-13

Mitochondrial mRNAs in kinetoplastids require extensive U-insertion/deletion editing that is directed by guide RNAs (gRNAs), and exhibits substrate and developmental stage-specificity by unsolved mechanisms. In this project we focus on compositionally related factors collectively known as the mitochondrial RNA-binding complex 1 (MRB1) or gRNA-binding complex (GRBC) that are suspected to be involved in regulation of mitochondrial mRNA editing and study their guide RNA compositions.
