Die Bestimmung der Psychoanalyse als "weltliche Seelsorge" stammt aus einem Brief Freuds an Pfister. In der abendländischen Tradition kann diese Bestimmung nur als Paradoxie verstanden werden, von der einige Dimensionen hier entfaltet werden. Im Zentrum steht die Forderung, den Begriff einer individuellen Autonomie abzuschaffen und zu ersetzen durch den der Souveränität: der Fähigkeit, die eigenen Abhängigkeit anzuerkennen, statt sie im Namen einer Autonomieforderung bekämpfen zu müssen. Verzicht auf Kampf ist Teil der anderen Dimension von Psychoanalyse als weltlicher Seelsorge, die hier herausgestellt wird. Es sind Kreativität und solidarische Kooperation, für die der analytische Prozess zum Modell einer Praxeologie der Lebenskunst avanciert. Es wird angeregt, die implizite Lebenskunstlehre einer Psychoanalyse weiter zu entfalten, die Wissenschaft "zur Seite" hat, aber nicht allein auf Wissenschaft beschränkt ist und auch nicht sein kann. In the European tradition this can only be understood as paradox, some dimension of which are unfolded here. Central is the demand to give up the notion of individual autonomy and to replace this concept by sovereignty which means the ability to acknowledge one’s dependencies instead of fighting against them in the name of an abstract demand to be autonomous. Renouncing to fight is part of further portrayed dimensions of psychoanalysis as profane ministry: creativity and cooperation. The analytic process grows up as an "apprenticeship" of learning how to live. It is suggested to explore the implicit moral apprenticeship of psychoanalysis more deeply.
