Ecotype Verification, Jago River Area, Arctic National Wildlife Area, Alaska. July 29 - August 6, 2025

The purpose of this data is to provide ground reference data for satellite image landcover classification, including coordinates, ecotype classes, dominant vegetation, and representative photographs. There are already multiple datasets and articles from this area of the Jago River. This ground truth dataset will complement and enhance the value of future datasets of this and similar areas by remote sensing. The following vegetation classes were encountered: Lacustrine Aquatic Moss, Lowland Moist Sedge-Willow Meadow, Lowland Wet Sedge Meadow, Lowland Moist Birch Low Shrub, Lowland Moist Tussock Shrub, Lacustrine Shallow Water, Upland Moist Willow Low Shrub, with Lowland Wet Low Willow Shrub not encountered but likely present.
