Euphorbia lateriflora and Ficus thonningii are used in Nigerian ethnomedicine for treatment of a variety of infections and diseases. We investigated the phyllosphere microbiome of the leaves of both plants with a combination culture, 16S rRNA gene and internal transcribed spacer (ITS) sequencing. Leaf samples were collected from plants growing in nature in Ibadan, Nigeria.
