资源简介:

This horse fountain was a gift from the class of 1900 at MSU (then called the State Agricultural College). Still located between Linton Hall and the MSU Museum (originally Williams Hall which is buried beneath the MSU Museum), this fountain is unique in that one side was for horses while the other side was for people. Although it doesn't work anymore, the fountain was located along one of the old roads on campus. This particular old road does not exist anymore and is actually a sidewalk now. Interestingly, this horse fountain was erected right at the end of era when travling by horse was common. Ransom Olds, of Oldsmobile, opened his large-scale car manufacturing plant in Lansing, just down the road, in 1901 - only 1 year after the fountain was built. It is likely this fountain wasn't used for very long as the campus expanded and cars became common on campus. This fountain represents an interesting turning point in the campus' history. Photogrammetry model built by Jack A. Biggs using Agisoft Metashape. Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab
