Background Subtraction Using MuscleX: Sample Data And Tutorial

The archive provides a tutorial and two sample patterns for reproducing the background subtraction results described in the manuscript "A Framework for Global Background Subtraction in Fiber Diffraction Patterns from Striated Muscle" using MuscleX's Quadrant Folding module. The README.pdf file covers two background subtraction approaches: (1) non-parametric optimization between a set of commonly used methods (Circularly-symmetric, Roving Window, 2D Convexhull, White-top-hats, and Smoothed-Gaussian/BoxCar) and (2) iterative parametric fitting of the equatorial streak and general background.
