In 2023, Roulette, a gambling game that involves betting on a spinning wheel, generated approximately 828 million Macau patacas in gross gambling revenue in Macao's casinos, more than six times the amount from the previous year. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent border closures of the Chinese mainland, the revenue of Macao's gambling had dropped drastically in early 2020.
