VPRS 8834 General Correspondence Files

This series comprises the general correspondence files of the two agencies responsible for the registration of nurses, namely the Nurses Board (VA 3144) and the Victorian Nursing Council (VA 1352).Information that may be found within this series includes:- various general correspondence to or from organisations and ministers,- newsletters from numerous organisations, newspaper cuttings and news releases,- names of the members of the various Councils,- the minutes and agendas of several sub-committees,- information relating to numerous conferences,- handbooks and publications pertaining to nursing, and- Acts related to nursing.Separate filing sequences were created to document the agencies' dealings with educational institutions that trained nurses and policy matters. These have been registered as VPRS 8832 Correspondence Files (Institutions) and VPRS 8833 Policy Files.
