The main goal of this proposal is to image the movement of a large magnetic domain wall (DW), in the same direction of a travelling Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW). Recent experiments performed within our group have unlocked a mechanism that allows a DW to travel in the same direction of the traveling SAW. This mechanism of direct transfer of linear momentum has been experimentally characterized with electric measurements and fully understood thanks to careful micromagnetic simulations. This mechanism seems to occur only for DWs with a width in the range of a quarter of the wavelength of the SAW and for asymmetric DWs. We intend to provide visual experimental evidence of this particular signature of the effect.
