资源简介:
OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effect of physical activity and muscle strength on quality of life in adults attending primary health care in Cruzeiro do Sul, Acre. METHODS: A cross-sectional, descriptive study with a quantitative approach, conducted in primary health care in the municipality of Cruzeiro do Sul, Acre. Physical activity was measured using the IPAQ, muscle strength was assessed by dynamometry, and quality of life was measured using the SF-36. RESULTS: The sample consisted of 253 participants, with a female predominance (78.66%) and an average age of 35.78 years. Most participants were classified as active or very active in terms of physical activity levels. The average muscle strength was 24.39 kgf. Quality of life, measured by the SF-36 domains, revealed good averages for functional capacity and mental health, with significant differences between sexes, showing better results in men. CONCLUSION: Higher levels of physical activity and muscle strength were positively associated with functional capacity, while age had a negative effect. These findings suggest the importance of promoting regular physical activities and muscle strengthening as effective strategies to improve quality of life, especially in the population served by primary health care.
