The following dataset was created as part of Noor Al-Zanoon PhD thesis which aims to understand the impact of radiation induced fibrosis on tongue function using computer simulation. The data set consists of the results of using a virtual biomechanical model of the tongue and simulating a consequence of radiation: fibrosis. Fibrosis parameters including density (high, low), area (large, small) and location were systematically varied in the model to test its impact on a target tongue motion (protrusion). The entire dataset consists of over 3,000 files with each file representing an experimental case and the resulting tongue tip positions against time associated with the case. This has been compiled into a single file named "Final Dataset". Additional files have been added that were used to in the simulation pipeline including: 1) Artisynth Simulation Files which are the script files describing the simulation itself; 2) MATLAB scripts which are files used by the team to generate experimental cases of fibrosis, and to analyze the results.
