The Barnacle Goose (Branta leucopsis) is a migratory waterfowl species. Its populations are structured into three flyways in Europe, and recently one resident population established in The Netherlands, growing rapdidly in numbers. Genetic analyses have never been attempted to study the flyways, their mixing, and the origin of the resident population. Here, we develop a set of SNP markers from a Rduced Representation Librabry (RRL) of genomic goose DNA.
