The goal of this study was to determine the diversity and composition of soil microbe communities spanning a latitudinal gradient along the Antarctic Peninsula. Soil samples were collected from 5 major island locations spanning the Antarctic Peninsula (South Georgia, Bird, Signy, Leonie, Alexander). Soil was brought back to British Antarctic Survey, Cambridge UK, and stored in -80C.
