Clostridium autoethanogenum is an industrially relevant anaerobic acetogen that can metabolize C1 substrates to more reduced carbon molecules. The organism natively encodes a type I-B CRISPR system for mobile genetic element defense. This CRISPR system can be potentially functionalized for gene editing within the organism, but knowledge fo the protospacer adjacent motif (PAM) is necessary. This project contains the sequencing data for a 4N randomized PAM library before and after selection in vivo.
