This repository contains the data and supporting files used in the paper “Designing Functional Magnetic Cloaks for Real-World Geometries”. The materials include mesh designs, magnetic field visualizations, and optimized permeability profiles used in the cloaking simulations.
All files are organized by figure number to correspond directly with the figures presented in the manuscript.
Figure_1
• Contains mesh construction files and magnetic field visualizations.
• Geometries: disc, diamond-shaped, and square pipes.
Figure_2
• Contains optimized permeability profile data (both original and regularized).
• Geometries: diamond-shaped and square pipes.
Figure_3
• Contains mesh construction files, magnetic field visualizations, and optimized permeability profiles (both original and regularized).
• Geometry: multi-lobed pipe.
Figure_S1
• Contains mesh construction files, magnetic field visualizations, and optimized permeability profiles.
• Geometries: L-shaped pipe and cambered aerofoil.
File Formats and Usage
• Meshes (.msh) – Finite element meshes, readable with Gmsh.
• Magnetic field (.vtu, .pvd) – Vector field solutions, readable with ParaView.
• Permeability profiles (.vtu, .pvd) – Scalar field solutions, readable with ParaView.
Note
• .vtu folder – Contain the actual simulation results stored in VTK’s unstructured grid format. Each .vtu file corresponds to a single simulation output (i.e., solutions at each timestep).
• .pvd file – Acts as an index file for a collection of .vtu files. ParaView reads .pvd files to automatically load the associated .vtu datasets in sequence.
• These datasets are sufficient to reproduce the corresponding figures shown in the manuscript. The data for Figures S2 and S3 are not included in this repository, as they consist of post-processed outputs that can be fully reproduced from the datasets already provided.
