TIB AV-Portal

The TIB AV-Portal is an open-access platform for scientific videos and audio recordings, focusing on technology as well as architecture, chemistry, computer science, mathematics and physics. Over time, the scope of the portal has expanded to include a wider range of scientific disciplines, including the humanities and social sciences, economics, law and medicine (see subjects). Users of the portal have access to a diverse range of video and audio content, including lecture and conference recordings, simulations, animations, experiments, interviews and video abstracts as well as open educational resources. The media stock of IWF Wissen und Medien gGmbH (1956 - 2011) was transferred to TIB in November 2012. This stock is not only made available for research in the TIB AV-Portal, but can also be used directly online, as far as possible, in the course of many years of measures for digitization, long-term archiving, indexing and rights clearance. This includes the ethnological film collection of IWF that is the largest in the world and comprises 1,953 films.
