One of the effective methods for biological control of citrus canker is the application of biocontrol bacteria. In this study, a pathogen A11 of citrus canker was isolated from citrus leaves, and 13 biocontrol bacteria were isolated from citrus rhizosphere soil and citrus leaves. It was found that the control effect of strain GJJK74 on citrus canker reached 100% through the in vitro antagonistic test on leaves. Strain GJJK74 was identified as Bacillus velezensis by morphological characteristics, physiological and biochemical characteristics, 16S rRNA gene sequencing, and Average Nucleotide Identity (ANI) analysis of whole genome sequence.The results of this experiment provided the genetic background and biological basis of B. velezensis as a biological control agent, and also provided the basis for agricultural applications of B. velezensis.
