Anastrepha ludens (Loew) o Mexican fruit fly is one of the most important pests in several species of citrus and mangoes among other fruit trees of economic importance from Rutaceae and Anacardiaceae families, it has a wide distribution in Mexican territory, and it is considered a quarantined pest in citrus, mangoes, from south Texas to Costa Rica, those limits the commercialization of the product from areas where is present. The transcriptome analysis of genes involved in chemical communication in Anastrepha ludens and its relatives reported in other areas will help us to better understand the diversification processes of the species and host selection.
